Am Abend zuvor war mein Versuch einer Langzeitbelichtung nach Sonnenuntergang noch am dichten Nebel des Atlantiks gescheitert. Doch bei diesem Foto hatte ich mehr Glück – und einen ND64-Filter im Einsatz. The evening before, my attempt at a long exposure after sunset had failed due to the thick fog of the Atlantic. But I had more luck with this photo—and used an ND64 filter. This gives the waves their special dynamic: they appear powerful and flowing at the same time, as if they were playing around the rocks in an endless rhythm. Above it all, the white houses with their red roofs tower high above the sea, firmly anchored on the cliff of Azenhas do Mar. A moment in which the forces of nature and tranquility merge into an impressive image.

Doch bei diesem Foto hatte ich mehr Glück – und einen ND64-Filter im Einsatz.
